Professional Learning Ontology
This ontology integrated the perspectives of automated on-demand learning support for workplace learning and competence management. The rationale and basic ideas of the ontology were presented within the OntoContent 2006 workshop at the On the Move Federated Conferences 2006 at Montpellier and are now being fed into standardization activities.
The ontology was developed within the project Learning in Process and subsequent research activities in the Information Process Engineering research group of FZI Research Center for Information Technologies by Andreas Schmidt in cooperation with Christine Kunzmann.
Typical application scenarios include:
- Work-integrated recommendation of learning resources
- Expert finding
- Training needs analysis and training programme planning
